They're Here!!!!!!

After a very long night, all the puppies are safely here.

We have 5 females and 4 males for a grand total of 9 puppies.

Paige is doing awesome!

We are just trying to recover from an all-nighter.

We have names for a few of them but not all. We were thinking about naming them for different kinds of apples, but some are harder than others. Do you know what a good apple name would be for a puppy with a blue ribbon? I don't. Then we thought we'd give them car names and did for a couple but have't tried very hard. Emily calls some of them by names she's given them, but I am sleep-deprived and can barely remember what the color is they are wearing.

Here are some pictures of the puppies I took tonight before their baths. I didn't want to weigh them wet.

Pink Lady was named for an apple we all love. She was born first at 7:53pm on Sunday, May 23rd. She weighed 14.1 ounces and has gained 2.9 ounces already.

Empire was also named for an apple. He wears the black collar. He was born at 9:39pm and weighed in at 17.1 ounces. He has gained 2.7 ounces already.

At 10:50 pm, we had anotther boy and put gold on him. We haven't come up with a good temporary name for him yet. He weighed 17.2 ounces and has gained 2.8 ounces so far.

Update: We went outside the theme, slightly and have name him Yukon Gold.

Next comes blue. Emily calls her Festiva. She has gained 3 ounces on top of her birthweight, which was 14.6 oz. She was born at 11:03 pm.

Silverado was named for a car, I think. She was born at 11:12 pm and weighed 16.9 ounces at birth. She has gained 1.9 ounces already.

Our puppy wearing the red collar is the biggest. He was born at 11:28pm and weighed a whopping 18.4 ounces! We thought about naming him Macintosh for the apple and Mac for the truck, so we call him Big Mac. He has gained 3.4 ounces already. Of course somebody pooed on him before his picture, but he's all clean, now.

Granny Smith wears green. She was born at 2:03 am on Monday, the 24th of May. She weighed in at 15.3 ounces and has gained 2.6 ounces so far.

Our yellow-collared puppy has no name yet. He was born at 3:50am and weighed 17 ounces. He has gained 1.7 ounces already.

Our white-collared girl, whose name is now Kia, waited 3 hours to be born. I had already put everything away because I thought Paige was done at eight puppies. She was born at 6:55 am. She has gained 1.9 ounces from her birthweight of 15.3 oz.
